Pre-Lim Task

This is my pre-lim task front cover. The task was to create a front cover for a school magazine aimed at younger students.

As you can see from this cover, my abilities to work with adobe photoshop elements 6.0 have increased a lot. I personally think that this cover isn't very good at all and looks far too amateur as the photo has been poorly cut out as well as the colours being too bold and simple.

However i think i managed to make a good piece of work baring in mind my basic skills on photoshop. I like the way i laid out the page as i chose to have listings at the top and at the side. This is similar to the style of Kerrang! and I think this is the best point of this piece of work.

Also another point I picked up on with this piece of work is the title. I noticed that it was very un-original and also the font in, which it was written isn't very effective for a front cover and doesn't look very good at all, so when i was making my real cover i kept this in mind to focus on the title and make sure it is original and to a good standard.
